Costs that group one slot
  • Every group is on the board. Click a group (or press its number), then click the bank buttons that belong to it.
  • When a group is full the next open one takes over. A wrong pick stays in the bank: it belongs somewhere else.
  • Start with the groups you are sure of; what is left helps with the rest.
  • Pause whenever you like (Esc). The board hides while the clock is stopped.

Pick the six that belong to each group. The groups and the bank appear when you start.

About this quiz

Regions are the four Census Bureau regions. The six members of each group are dealt from Ribbia's checked lists of states, capitals and presidents.

  • No capital in the bank belongs to a state that is also in the bank.
  • Presidents appear under their full names, so Lincoln the capital and Abraham Lincoln the president are different buttons.
  • A wrong pick costs that group a slot. The item stays in the bank, because it belongs somewhere else.

Note on the data. States and their Census Bureau regions, state capitals and presidents are read from the lists behind Ribbia's US state capitals and US presidents quizzes, checked against the Census Bureau's map of regions and divisions, the National Archives and the White House on or before 3 October 2026. The members of each group are dealt from those lists by a fixed seed.
