What stays in your browser

Ribbia has no accounts and no sign in. Everything the site remembers about your play is saved in your own browser, using its local storage, and never sent to us:

• your best and average score for each quiz, and your recent plays;
• your game statistics, such as wins, times and streaks;
• your daily puzzle progress and streak;
• a game or crossword in progress, so you can come back to it;
• small preferences, such as how you like to play order quizzes.

We cannot see any of it. It stays on that device and that browser, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s data for this site.

Games against the computer

The chess, xiangqi and shogi opponents run entirely in your browser. Your moves are never sent anywhere.

Cookies and tracking

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or share personal data. Fonts, flags and maps are served from our own site.

Visitor statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which games and quizzes people play, so we know what to make next. It sets no cookies and does not identify you or follow you to other sites. It records the page, the referring site, your country and the kind of device and browser, plus anonymous events such as “quiz started” or “quiz finished” with a score band. Nothing in it can be traced back to you.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps short lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure and running. These logs are not used to identify you.

Sharing results

When you copy or share a result or a challenge link, the text is created on your device and goes only where you choose to send it. A challenge link carries the board and your score, nothing about you.

Children

Ribbia collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date below.
