- Every group is on the board. Click a group (or press its number), then click the bank buttons that belong to it.
- When a group is full the next open one takes over. A wrong pick stays in the bank: it belongs somewhere else.
- Start with the groups you are sure of; what is left helps with the rest.
- Pause whenever you like (Esc). The board hides while the clock is stopped.
Pick the three states that fit each rule. The groups and the bank appear when you start.
About this quiz
All 50 states are in play. The rules are computed from Ribbia's shared state list, and each state in the bank fits exactly one of them.
- A rule about letters may fit more places than the three in the bank; the bank never holds a fourth.
- Areas are total area, land and water, and populations are estimates for 1 July 2025.
- At the end the board shows where every wrong pick really belongs.

Note on the data. Rules are computed from Ribbia's shared state list: Census Bureau total areas and resident population estimates for 1 July 2025, and the National Archives list of state capitals, all read on 3 October 2026. A test recomputes every rule and checks that each state in the bank fits exactly one.
