About this quiz
The United States has 50 states, one federal district and a handful of territories. Reading 80 names at speed, it is surprisingly easy to click Georgia while hunting for Guam.
- The District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have postal abbreviations of their own, DC and PR, but neither is a state.
- There is a North and a South Dakota and a North and a South Carolina, but no state called just Dakota or Carolina.
- New England is a region of six states, not a state.
- Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta are Canadian provinces; Sonora, Chihuahua and Baja California are Mexican states.
