About this quiz
All 50 states are ranked; the District of Columbia and the territories are not states and are left out. The order uses total area, land and water together.
- The state in first place has 1,723,337 km²; the one in tenth has 253,335 km².
- Just outside the ten: Michigan, 250,487 km².
- The buttons stay in A to Z order, so a button's position is no clue to its rank.
- After the game every button shows its place in the order.
