About this quiz
A scientific name has two parts: the genus, with a capital letter, and the species. Animals in the same genus are close relatives, so the lion, tiger, jaguar and leopard all begin Panthera.
- 57 animals are in the pool and each round draws fifteen.
- Names that give the answer away, such as Gorilla gorilla, are left out.
- Two tries per name, then the animal is shown.
