- A name appears above the map. Click that place.
- Small countries have a generous target: click on or right beside them.
- Pinch or use the zoom buttons to get closer.
- Pause whenever you like (Esc). The board hides while the clock is stopped.
Click each state as it is named to erase it from the map.
Drawing the map
About this quiz
A minefield on the map of the USA. Each state you click correctly disappears, so the map empties as you go and your landmarks vanish with it. Switch to No outlines on the start panel to play without borders.
- Alaska is the largest state and Rhode Island is the smallest.
- Alaska and Hawaii are drawn in the lower left corner, out of position and not to scale.

Note on the data. The 50 states are those on the Census Bureau's state code list, leaving out the District of Columbia and the territories. The map is drawn from the Census Bureau's public domain cartographic boundary files, with Alaska and Hawaii moved and rescaled into the lower left corner.
