About this quiz
Federal holidays are set by Congress for federal employees. Names here are the ones written in the law, which is why the third Monday of February is Washington's Birthday; Presidents' Day is accepted too.
- Five of the eleven are tied to a day of the month; the other six move with the weekday.
- Six of the eleven always fall on a Monday.
- When a holiday falls on a Saturday it is usually observed on the Friday before, and on the Monday after when it falls on a Sunday.

Note on the data. The eleven holidays, their legal names and their 2026 dates are from the Office of Personnel Management's federal holidays page, read on 3 October 2026. Everyday names (Presidents' Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving) are accepted as alternates. Inauguration Day, a holiday only for federal employees in the Washington area every fourth year, is not counted.
