About this quiz
Bank holidays differ across the United Kingdom. Scotland has 2 January and St Andrew's Day but no Easter Monday; Northern Ireland adds St Patrick's Day and the Battle of the Boyne.
- When a bank holiday falls at a weekend, a substitute weekday becomes the holiday.
- The summer bank holiday is the first Monday of August in Scotland and the last Monday elsewhere.
- One off holidays, such as those for a coronation or a jubilee, are not counted.

Note on the data. The holidays and the parts of the United Kingdom that observe them are from the GOV.UK bank holiday list for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, read on 3 October 2026. Names follow that list; the Battle of the Boyne appears there with Orangemen's Day in brackets, which is accepted.
