About this quiz
Writers have taken pen names to hide who they were, to change genre or simply to get a fair reading. Some pen names became far better known than the real ones.
- The Brontë sisters had succeeded in getting published under their Bell pen names by December 1847.
- The first Mary Westmacott novel, Giant's Bread, was published in 1930.
- Robert Galbraith's Cormoran Strike series had reached eight novels by 2025.
