About this quiz

The twelve traditional constellations of the zodiac lie along the path the Sun appears to follow through the sky over a year. All twelve are among the 88 constellations astronomers recognise today.

  • Astronomers call the scorpion Scorpius and the sea goat Capricornus; Scorpio and Capricorn are the astrological forms.
  • The abbreviations astronomers use are three letters long, such as Sgr for Sagittarius and Psc for Pisces.
  • Leo also names a second constellation nearby, Leo Minor, which is not part of the zodiac.
