About this quiz
A test of when each president served rather than the order alone. Presidents with two terms can fill two rows, and some short presidencies fall between the years asked.
- Zachary Taylor was president on July 4, 1850; his presidency ended five days later, on July 9.
- Presidents with two separate terms, Cleveland and Trump, can fill rows that are far apart.
- Calvin Coolidge is the only president born on the Fourth of July, in 1872.

Note on the data. Presidencies, vice presidents and dates of service follow the House of Representatives' table of presidents, vice presidents and coinciding sessions of Congress, read on 3 October 2026. Each row is the president whose dates of service cover July 4 of that year, worked out in code. Names and accepted short forms are those of Ribbia's us-presidents quiz.
