- Each circle is a rule, written out in full beside the diagram. Click the region where the named place belongs: inside one, two or all three circles, or outside them all.
- Every region holds exactly one of the eight, so a region that is used is out of the running.
- Keys: 1 to 8 pick the numbered regions, S skips to the next name and comes back later.
- Pause whenever you like (Esc). The board hides while the clock is stopped.
Click the region of the diagram where the country belongs. The diagram and its three rules appear when you start.
About this quiz
8 diagrams take turns, each made of three of 11 rules. Ribbia counts 197 countries: the 193 members of the United Nations plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan. After the round every placement is explained with the figure behind it.
- Each play deals eight countries, one for every region of the diagram, so the regions you have used help with the ones that are left.
- A country whose figure is within three percent of a rule's threshold is never asked about that rule.
- A country with a border that could be argued, such as one through an overseas territory or a disputed area, is never asked about its neighbours.
- A wrong click loses that one place and the game moves on; nothing ends early.

Note on the data. Every placement is computed from Ribbia's shared country data: surface areas from Table 3 of the United Nations Demographic Yearbook 2023 (Sudan from the World Bank) and mid 2025 populations from the United Nations Statistical Yearbook table, read on 3 October 2026. Land borders, land boundary lengths, coastlines and highest points are those of the CIA World Factbook in its last (2025) edition, read on 3 October 2026 from the archived copies of the agency's own field pages, parsed by script and checked to be symmetric. A border through a dependency (French Guiana, Gibraltar, Greenland, Ceuta and Melilla) or one that depends on a disputed status (Kosovo, Palestine, Western Sahara, the Golan Heights) is on a doubtful list and is never asked. The validator recomputes the region of every country in every diagram and requires all eight regions to be filled.
