About this quiz
A spelling quiz: 14 of the 50 states fit the rule. The rule is read from the English name Ribbia lists for each state, so the answers are spelled the way they appear on the site.
- Alaska and Hawaii count, in their boxes at the lower left.
- The ones you miss are marked on the map when the clock runs out.

Note on the data. The answers are computed from the spelling of each name on Ribbia's shared list; nothing was typed. The 50 states are those on the Census Bureau's state code list, leaving out the District of Columbia and the territories. The map is drawn from the Census Bureau's public domain cartographic boundary files, with Alaska and Hawaii moved and rescaled into the lower left corner.
