About this quiz
The Original Six are the six franchises that were in the NHL before the expansion of 1967/68. Despite the name, they were not all there at the start in 1917.
- They are the Montréal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings.
- The oldest are the Montréal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, in the league since its first season in 1917/18.
- Between them they have won the Stanley Cup 63 times since 1917/18.
