- Pick a cell and type its team. Every cell you solve shows a new clue about other cells.
- Cells are named like chess squares: the letter is the column, the number is the row.
- Not sure yet? Add a name to a cell as a note. Notes are never checked and never cost a strike.
- Keyboard: Alt and an arrow key moves between cells, Enter answers, Shift and Enter adds a note.
- Pause whenever you like (Esc). The board hides while the clock is stopped.
Work out the team in every cell from the clues. The grid appears when you start.
About this quiz
Thirty teams, one grid. Each clue places a cell by conference, division, championships won or when the franchise joined the league, and only one arrangement of teams fits them all.
- Any of the 30 NBA teams could be in a cell, and no answer appears twice.
- A franchise keeps its titles and its first season when it moves or changes its name: the Lakers count Minneapolis's titles.
- The NBA counts the seasons of the BAA, from 1946/47, as its own.
- A team has had another name or home city when the NBA's franchise history lists one.
