About this quiz
Asia's own names come in many scripts: Arabic, Chinese characters, Devanagari, Thai, Georgian, Armenian, Hangul and more. Some are easy to place once you know the script; others hide behind a name that sounds nothing like the English one.
- North Korea is named here by its official name, 조선민주주의인민공화국; the South Korean word for it, 북한, is a different name altogether.
- Singapore has four official languages; English is left out here, so it shows its Chinese, Malay and Tamil names.
- The Maldives is not asked: the locale data has no name for it in Dhivehi.
