About this quiz

- Missouri borders Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
- Tennessee and Missouri have eight neighbours each, the most of any state.
- Two states count as neighbours when they share a stretch of boundary. States that meet only at a point are not on the board at all.

Note on the data. Neighbours were worked out from the Census Bureau's cartographic boundary file: two states are neighbours when their boundaries share a stretch of line. Pairs that meet only at a single point (the Four Corners) or only across water are neither answers nor decoys. Read on 3 October 2026.
