Football quiz
Every nationality to win the European Cup or Champions League
Sixty three national teams have had one of their players in a winning squad, from 1956 to 2026: a player counts if he was in his club's squad for the final, unused substitutes included. He counts for the national team he was playing for at the time (Alfredo Di Stéfano is Argentina in 1956), under the country of that day: Yugoslavia has its own row and West Germany counts as Germany.

About this quiz
Seventy one finals have been won since 1956, and the winning squads have held players from 63 national teams. A player counts if he was in his club's squad for the final: the starting eleven and every listed substitute, whether he came on or not. He counts for the national team of his most recent senior international at the time; a player not yet capped counts for the first national team he went on to play for, and a player who was never capped cannot open a row. Dissolved states appear as they were: Yugoslavia covers every winner who played for a team of that name up to 2003, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia each begin with the first winner capped by them, and West Germany and Germany share one row.
- Alfredo Di Stéfano counts for Argentina in the 1956 final and for Spain from 1957, after his Spain debut that January.
- Four finals each opened three rows: 1968, 2004, 2005 and 2010. The 2010 trio is Colombia, Kenya and North Macedonia.
- Twelve rows were opened by a substitute who never came on, among them Iceland, Kenya, Chile and Turkey.
- The 2026 final added no new nationality; the latest newcomers are Ecuador and South Korea, both in 2025.
