About this quiz
Arabic is written from right to left with 28 letters. Most letters join to their neighbours and change shape depending on where they fall in a word; this quiz shows each one standing alone.
- Several letters share a basic shape and differ only in their dots, such as ب, ت and ث.
- The pairs ح and خ, ص and ض, and ع and غ differ by a single dot.
- Letter names are spelled in more than one way in English, such as jeem or jim and noon or nun.
